Spring racing season has returned and however your celebrating it this year, there’s  no denying that dressing up for the races is a whole lot of fun.  I’m going to break down four trends you could try this spring racing season.

Before I do though, how many times have you purchased that perfect race dress or amazing head piece to have it just sit in your wardrobe afterwards? I recommend that firstly have a look at what you already have and think about how you could turn it into a great race wear option just by adding different accessories or headpieces. A great tip is if the dress is printed and busy keep the headwear one colour to keep it classy. Yet if you opt for a plain block coloured dress, pantsuit or suit be a little more daring with different colour combinations and texture to amp up the outfit for an elegant look.

If you decide to purchase something new really consider it being versatile enough that you will be able to wear it again or even be able to dress it down for versatility and sustainability.

JUMPSUITS
For those who don’t love dresses or would like another option jumpsuits are your answer to spring racing. Go for a wide leg to give the illusion of a flowy dress or opt for a beautifully fitted one to show off your curves.

COLOUR
Spring has sprung, so break out of your moody dark tones in favour of bright pops of colour that will make you feel happy. I’m loving sunset tones this spring, like orange, yellow and red.

SUITS & MATCHING SETS
Androgynous style is in full swing this season, with power suits hitting us left, right and centre. Do like the boys and show up to the races in a matching suit. Be bold with colour and perhaps try shorts instead of pants, if the weather permits for a more feminine edge. Keep the fabrics light weight and wear something pretty enough underneath that if you need to take your jacket off you still look well put together.

RUFFLES
Let ruffles do the talking for your racing outfit. Be it off-the-shoulder , structured or along your hemline, ruffles are effortless and easily pulled off with simple accessories and heels. Why not consider a floral shorter length dress or even a wrap maxi dress that nips in at the waist for a beautiful figure enhancing look.
